Six Transitions was composed in 2026 for Fabled Forest, a work by the composer’s daughter, Marissa Landy, scored for piano, harp, marimba and vibraphone.
This work evolved from the composer’s daughter’s composition ‘Fabled Forest’, which was originally intended for concert performance and album dissemination. She decided to present ‘Fabled Forest’ in the forest which inspired it, namely Epping Forest near Wanstead (E. London). For the transition sections to and from each site where her five movements were performed, very different sounds were heard, namely Marissa’s voice reciting specially written texts, which were recomposed by her father, and various atmospheric ambiences. The work was premiered in September 2026, but it is expected that it will continue to appear in this forest and perhaps be adapted to others in the future.
Audio will be added once the work has been officially launched.
